NBA 2K9 is the best basketball/sports game ever made. I am partial making that comment, I know it. But the game is so good, that is hard not to fall in love with it. I am a basketball fan. I play the sport and watch a lot of it. When this game came out, I was forced to buy it. I own this game for the XBOX 360. At launch, the game had many bugs, perhaps because the developers rushed to publish it. Now, after the patch, the game plays flawlessly. The graphics are the most realistic on any platform, but what sets this game apart from the competition is its playability. The characters actually are governed by the laws of physics. You won't see any unrealistic movement at all. The players are updated every week to match their counterparts in real life. So if a player sucks during a whole week, that will be reflected upon the game. There are tons of game modes. You have the dunk contest, 3pt shoot out, the rookie challenge. There is the Association mode, which is like a long league where you take control of every aspect of your team and you can also play online. The PC version of the game lacks a lot in terms of multiplayer, but the XBOX 360 version even has leagues that you can actually play. There is trading, injuries and more. There are plenty of moves that you can learn, and nothing is random. I love this game.
